Welcome to our new Youth Directors:

My name is Yael Disenhouse and I am thrilled to be one half of the new Youth Director team at Shaarei Shomayim. I grew up in this Shul and I am really looking forward to running the youth program. I am 22 years old, and recently graduated from York University with an Honours BA in History. This year, I will be attending University of Toronto Teacher College, OISE.


	My name is Sara Gurza and I'm 22 years old. This past year I graduated with an Honours Bachelor degree in Jewish Studies and Psychology from the University of Western Ontario. This fall I will be starting my Bachelor of Education degree at University of Toronto's OISE.

Beyond our schooling, we have both worked with children of all ages in both classroom and informal settings. Together, we hope to create an educational environment in the Shul that makes our participants feel comfortable, eager and excited to come join our program each week. We firmly believe that the youth program should serve as an informal environment for Jewish learning. To this end, our programming will be developed with the goal of being fun, creative and focused on Torah and Mitzvot.

Please make sure your children join us each week, we have a great year planned.
